PLAYER & DATABASE/LIBRARY

Player (Advanced): foobar2000
Player (Basic): Spider Player
Database/Library (Advanced): foobar2000

We made the distinction between "the player" and "the library/database" because, almost without exception, audio player/library software is weighed toward one at the expense of the other. Perhaps the only exception to this "rule" is foobar2000 (if you can afford the time and energy, foobar2000 can function as both an excellent player and database/library, but don't underestimate the tweaking involved).

So, we suggest using foobar2000 or Spider Player in conjunction with musikCube (foobar2000 due to configuration hassles and Spider Player due to its lack of database functionality)
