The service follows that outlined in the
Play Section:
Transfer > Encode > Tag > Gain
Basically we:
- Clean analog medium
- Adjust peak level input
- Record at 32 bit 44,100 Hz
- Filter out subsonic noise (removing everything below 20 Hz with a rumble filter)
- Split LP to separate tracks, manually editing each one (applying fades in & out where necessary)
- Save PCM Wav files for later repair if necessary and if requested (see repair process)
- Convert files to 16 bit
- Tag the files (apply meta-data)
- Apply replay gain (if client has chosen uncompressed PCM Wav files then replay gain is applied after conversion to 16 bit - and that is the end of the process)
- Burn to CD or DVD ready for delivery
